Η Ευφροσυνη Ρουπα ειναι πτυχιουχος Masters με σπουδες στον τομεα της Iστοριας των Eφαρμοσμενων Tεχνων και της Σχεδιασης απο το τμημα Design, Housing and Apparel του Πανεπιστημιου της Μινεσοτα, στη Μινεαπολη της πολιτειας Μινεσοτα των Η.Π.Α. Στη μεταπτυχιακη της διατριβη κατεγραψε τις διεθνεις αισθητικες τασεις που απεκτησαν δημοτικοτητα στην Ελλαδα κατα το 19ο αιωνα εως και τις αρχες του 20ου καθως και το ελληνικο "κινημα της μεταρρυθμισης", δηλαδη την προσπαθεια παραγωγης προιοντων με ελληνικη αισθητικη ταυτοτητα. Ειναι επισης κατοχος του Β.Α. στον τομεα της Ιστοριας της Τεχνης απο το School of Liberal Arts του ιδιου Πανεπιστημιου. Κατα το προπτυχιακο προγραμμα σπουδων παρακολουθησε και μαθηματα σχετικα με την ιστορια των εφαρμοσμενων τεχνων, οπως Ιστορια της ενδυμασιας, Ιστορια του επιπλου, Ιστορια των διακοσμητικων τεχνων και αλλα.
Κατα τη φοιτηση της στις Η.Π.Α. εργασθηκε σε καταστημα πωλησης παλαιων αντικειμενων, με ειδικοτητα στα αντικειμενα της Ανατολης (Sarkisian's, 1891, Denver, Colorado), καθως και στο Rocky Mountain Regional Conservation Center (Denver, Colorado) ως βοηθος συντηρησης αντικειμενων των εφαρμοσμενων τεχνων. Ασκηθηκε στο Denver Art Museum, ως βοηθος της εφορου του τμηματος της Αμερικανικης Τεχνης Dr. Lauretta Dimmick. Για αρκετα χρονια εργασθηκε στην καταγραφη των αντικειμενων της οικιας Alexander Ramsey (1868, Minnesota Historical Society, St. Paul, MΝ).
Στην Ελλαδα, απο το 1992, ασχολειται με πρωτογενη ερευνα στους τομεις των εφαρμοσμενων τεχνων και της σχεδιασης. Σε συγκριση με αλλες χωρες, στην Ελλαδα, η μελετη των εφαρμοσμενων τεχνων παραμενει ακομα ανεξερευνητη. Δεν διοργανωνονται, τουλαχιστον με τη συχνοτητα που παρατηρειται σε αλλες χωρες, επιστημονικα συνεδρια που εχουν αμεση σχεση με τις εφαρμοσμενες τεχνες και δεν υπαρχει περιοδικος τυπος για δημοσιευσεις.
Ως εκ τουτου η συγγραφεας συνεργαζεται με ειδικους απο αλλους επιστημονικους τομεις με στοχο τη συγγραφη βιβλιων. Καθε βιβλιο αποτελει τη μεθοδικη μελετη ενος παραγωγικου τομεα. Σε καθε μελετη παρουσιαζονται οχι μονον οι αισθητικες τασεις αλλα και οι πολιτικοι, κοινωνικοι και οικονομικοι παραγοντες, καθως και οι μεθοδοι παραγωγης και τεχνολογιας. Στοχος αυτης της μεθοδικης εργασιας ειναι μακροπροθεσμα να αποκτησουμε μια συνολικη εικονα για το ελληνικο ντιζαιν.

Curriculum Vitae
After attending courses in the history of applied arts, with an emphasis on 19th century, she received a Masters degree from the Department of Design, Housing and Apparel at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, U.S.A. Her Masters' thesis records the foreign aesthetic trends that became popular in Greece during the 19th century up until early in the 20th. Emphasis is placed on the foreign reform movements, their influence upon the Greek people and their effort to produce products with distinguished Greek design (national identity).
She also holds a Β.Α. from the Department of Art History, School of Liberal Arts at the same university. During her undergraduate studies she attended a number of courses on the history of applied arts, such as History of Fashion and Textiles, History of Decorative Arts, History of Furniture, etc.
While a student in the U.S.A. she trained in the Alexander Ramsey House (construction begun 1868), Minnesota Historical Society, St. Paul, MΝ. She also gained experience working in the prestigious Sarkisian's (est. 1891), the oriental rugs and antiquities shop at Denver, Colorado, as well as in the Rocky Mountain Regional Conservation Center in the same city, where she assisted with the conservation of artifacts. Finally she trained at the Denver Art Museum, as an intern aiding the curator of the American Arts Department, Dr. Lauretta Dimmick.
She returned to Greece in 1992 and ever since she has been conducting research on Greek applied arts, design and production. In Greece, when compared to other countries, the subject of applied arts and design, remains still largely unexplored: no journals are published or conferences are organized.
Under the circumstances, the author cooperates with other people with an expertise on a coplementary field and together they produce books rather than papers. Each book constitutes the thorough study of a productive sector in Greece. It records not only the aesthetic trends but the social, political, economic and technical issues behind them as well, those factors that dictate the development of design. The aim is to study and record the history of Greek design in its totality.
